The battle against ECZEMA has been real. Over the last two years, I have been itchy, scratchy almost all day, every day. This is something that I have struggled with since I was a child. It comes and goes. Of course, the normal things have been done.
Change the detergent - I have ALWAYS used product with no dyes and no scents.
Change the soap - I have been using Liquid African Black Soap from Plant Guru. LOVE IT!
Change your lotion - I have been using jojoba oil, rosemary oil, Eucerin or Lubriderm (a combination or individually). Helichrysum and Tea Tree essential oils are good to use with a carrier oil.
Wear natural fibers specifically cotton - This is the hardest to do! Look at the labels on your clothing and undergarments. For men, it is easy to find 100% cotton clothing. For women, its harder to find quality clothing without the lycra, polyester, or some other artificial material. I am always on the hunt for quality brands to support.
Drink WATER - This is especially helpful to flush toxins out of the body and to stay hydrated.
Eat good fats - I became diligent in eating flax seed daily. My Gentle Detox Drink contains Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Vitamin D supplement or the SUN (for at least 20 minutes) - Walks with Apollo help me get this into my daily routine.
Alternative therapies - Acupuncture has been beneficial in keeping the circulatory and lymphatic system flowing. Hot and Cold Water Therapy has been helpful by simply switching from hot and cold water in the shower. I have also used this method using a sauna followed by a cold water shower.
Detoxing and Fasting
Eating my infamous twigs and berries diet! My overall diet centers around fruit, green salads, seeds, and select nuts that are not histamine triggers for me. I will eat other foods and snacks.
I do not want to jinx myself. But...I AM CURED!?!?! I have not done anything out of the ordinary but stayed consistent, especially with the detoxing. Your skin is your largest organ and a sewage system to release toxins. The pivotal moment for true healing was an AH-HA moment of self reflection.
I realized that my lifestyle for about 10 years had been crazy, ridiculous with work related challenges and personal adjustments. When I moved away from my core stressors and the world shut down (literally), my physical body started to purge once I was removed from the rat race and was able to rest.
Now that my skin has calmed, I will continue to do the work of keeping my physical self balanced and aligned, my spiritual self vibrating high, and my mental self at peace.
