Follow Your Intuition

I used to work at major retailer as a Buyer at their corporate office. They were sort of in no-man's-land and had not been completely developed with other businesses and amenities at that time. I may have been anxious to get home. Or, just listening to some really good music. I don't really remember. I must have had my foot a little too heavy on my gas pedal. I was pulled over by a police officer on the major street leading to the Interstate.
As I looked in my mirror, I could tell the officer was ready for an altercation. My gut told me that being a brown, copper-colored woman was NOT going to work to my advantage. The officer comes up to my barely cracked window with an attitude.
He asks: "Do you know you were speeding?"
I went radio silent...MUTE. I handed over my insurance and drivers license. He may have asked me something else. I don't remember. He went back to his car. After a short time, he came back with a ticket, the same attitude, and more commentary (which I ignored). I took the ticket and waited for him to return to his vehicle.
As I drove off, I knew I had been spared. How? I will never, ever know. I did not fight the urge to be quiet. I was calm and peaceful. I've been pulled over before. I was coming home from college and was doing the regular speed limit in a construction zone. That day, I had a totally different response. I had diarrhea of the mouth, told the man all my business. I laughed at myself. He laughed with me. He told me to slow down, gave me a ticket for not having my insurance card, and walked away with a smile. I'm sure he told his wife about the crazy girl he met that day at work.
All of this to say, follow your gut. Your intuition never lies to you. Whenever I ignore it, the scenario is always negative, traumatic, painful, hurtful...how many adjectives can I use for BAD? If I flow with that little voice (sometimes its loud as a blowhorn), every single time the situation works in my favor. Sure I overthink things at times. Or, at times, I am told to do or say NOTHING.
Following your intuition does not mean that life will be easy breezy. You will still have difficult situations. You will be placed in uncomfortable positions. You will be challenged. People around you may think you're strange, crazy, or weird. Ultimately, it is your life so you have to make the best choices that will give yourself peace. Yes, there are evil people who may only exist on this planet to do evil things. And, that evil may bring them peace, joy, and happiness! That is another subject for another day and a different post.
I'm speaking to only spiritual beings with a soul. Even when things look bleak, as long as you are divinely guided, everything works out to your favor. EVERYTHING.
In both of the officer situations, at the end of the day, I did not have to pay the fine. I completed the online class (which everyone needs to take regularly for a refresher but I will not digress) or went to court to show my insurance card. Knowing me...I probably needed the quiet drive that day to the courthouse to clear my mind. Each time, I peacefully made it home safely. That's all that mattered.

Thanks for sharing! I just completed that online course too! Yes, it is a great refresher 😊. Following my intuition is a like a message to me.
This is the truth! My intuition has never led me wrong no mater how crazy the request.
