Hell on Earth

Life sucks yall. It really does.

Throughout your life, you will experience all sorts of disappointments. Cancer treatments fail and you lose a loved one. You try your best on classwork and still get a D on your report card. The job interview did not turn into a job offer. You get evicted from your apartment. When you are in the thick of things, you are angry, sad, and disappointed. Life sucks.

But...it can never stay hellish. The universe just doesn't operate in this way. Tough times are lessons to learn. NOT getting the job may have been a blessing in disguise or a push into a different direction. The eviction may help you reevaluate your finances and put you in a better place long term. The pendulum does not swing only in one direction. It will ALWAYS swing the other way.

There is one caveat! You have to put in the work. Otherwise, the cycle will continue...over and over again. I have noticed that some people walk in a trance. Repeating the same things. These habits keep us stuck in a matrix. You must make time for self discovery to break free from it. You must evaluate your behaviors, thoughts, and feelings to get to the core, root cause of the problems you are facing. Many times, we want to blame others for the hell and misfortune that comes our way. This way of thinking is just simply not true.

Other people and situations are REFLECTIONS of ourselves. The reflection can be nice with pretty bows, rainbows, and unicorns all over it. The reflection can be evil, dirty, and vindictive. Am I saying that you (or I) are just bad people when bad things happen? No. I am not. When bad things happen, a shift is required. Personally, here is what I find as truth during those challenging moments.

  • I am to HEAL - either past or current traumas

  • I am to FORGIVE myself - sometimes it is for allowing someone else to rob my energy

  • I am to MOVE ON - let go of something or someone that no longer serves me

  • I am to LOVE - take care of myself (mind, body, and spirit)

  • I am to GIVE - someone else needs my help

Right now, life sucks for many of us. The winter and shortened days brings depression and anxiety, sickness, and a sedentary lifestyle If you need help, find help. If you are sad, cry or journal about it. Get outside (even if it cold) and breath fresh air. Connect with friends and family. Take a class. DETOX! Ramp up on Vitamin D and C! Help someone hungry with a warm meal. Meditate. Pray.

Its a process. And yeah, earth can be hellish but it can be pretty damn amazing and magical too!
