Starting Over: Lock In!

I feel like I've "started over" at least five times this year. 2025 has been a whirlwind of fresh beginnings.

I restarted after every job change.
I began anew with each diet adjustment.
I revamped my business strategy.
I started over with a new routine when the boys returned to school.
Even though I'm not currently facing the stress of full-time work, I'm just beginning to grasp its impact. Since graduating college in 1995, I've spent 30 years in fast-paced work environments. In many roles, I also dealt with challenging managers, unrealistic expectations, and lengthy commutes. Often, I was juggling mental gymnastics to avoid mentioning personal matters. I realize my adrenals were likely dysfunctional and my cortisol levels were high.
I frequently experienced these symptoms:
🍟 Salt cravings - Chips and french fries are a weakness!
🩸Low blood sugar - Makes me want to eat!
🪮Hair loss - I have a lot of hair. Most people wouldn't notice.
😴Fatigue - I could easily pass out on the floor...at ANY time.
🦵🏾Muscle pain - My knee has been on and off for a couple of years.
Many times this year, I was drawn to fasting and detoxing. I participated in a juice cleanse with a group. It wasn't fulfilling. I started 75 Hard, but my knees were protesting...and not in a good way. It was simply too much stress on my post-menopausal body.
I lacked motivation.
I just discovered the Lock In Challenge. Sure...I'm about 30 days late to this trend.
I am LOCKING IN.
I just left my girlfriends after enjoying a latte treat at The Stockyard Coffeehouse. Although I enjoyed it, my kidneys need a break from caffeine and sugar.
Carbs are not my friend. I removed them for a week and lost 6 lbs. Ate them again and gained it all back.
Without 75 Hard, my water intake is lacking.
My nighttime habits are poor. Watching YouTube takes over instead of reading, stretching, and meditating.
My goals are simple:
🏋🏾♀️Lose the 10 pounds that menopause has given me
💦Drink my water - reintroduce my herbal tea blends
📖Swap screen time for reading
🐄Focus on protein
🧘🏾♀️Weekly 24-hour fast
In 2026, I'll get a DEXA scan to track progress and adjust my goals.
