Summer, Summer, Summertime!

The last month has been full of travel, graduations, and end of school activities. My 9 to 5 has been hectic. Everyone has been preparing for the summer season.

I have been waiting and anticipating this time of the year for WATERMELON. I harassed my husband for a couple of weeks about the local watermelon stand.
Me: "Is it open?"
Him: (silence)
That means NO.
Until the one day during Memorial Day weekend, we drove past and the boards against the windows were gone. I swerved over into the right lane, jumped the low curb, and screeched to a stop.
Before my husband could get out of the car, my trunk was opening and I was inspecting the melons. After the men knocked on a few, I had two watermelons loaded up in the car and off we went. Yes, we paid for them!
From now until Labor Day, you can guarantee that I will have at least one on hand all summer (right now I have 3). So, why am I so obsessed?
The best hydration does not necessarily come from regular water (H2O). I do not know how many debates I have heard about what type of water to drink. What's best? Artisian? Spring? Distilled? Alkaline? And...how much? Half of your body weight at least? Or is that really too much? From my observation, the best hydration is not from H2O alone. Water rich foods (H3O2) are ideal. Most people are not eating enough fruit and vegetables. And if you're not...can you imagine how dehydrated you really are? I know most people are not drinking at least 64 ounces of regular water. Without proper hydration, you body will not eliminate toxins effectively, absorb nutrients, or have proper cellular function.
The most water rich foods includes melons, grapes, cucumbers, tomatoes, and lettuces.
My girlfriends and I will talk about watermelons at least once a week. It brings us joy! For us, this is the perfect time to detox our daily food menus and go rogue. There are so many fresh fruits now available for the summer. My fridge will be loaded with berries, salad fixings, manderin oranges, cherries, grapes, and an exotic fruit of some type until all the markets are down to just the Fall apples.
Until then, we will enjoy this season's harvest and drop these winter pounds (for me, add in menopausal weight gain). If there's anything you would like to learn or have me research for a post, let me know!
Hugs and much love!

YES...I'm happy for this season. I purchase a watermelon every week. The berries are good this year too! I had a glass of watermelon juice last night. I'm lovin' your gif! That visual is on point😂.
Greetings Mama Mad, I would highly enjoy some information about electrolytes. What are they? How important electrolytes are to keeping the body hydrated? And a recipe of one that we can all make and enjoy. Thanks for the inspiration of WATERMELON. I am in the waiting process for my watermelons to grow, and I can't wait for the Seeded Melons. 💚🦋
