Sunshine and Joy to You!

ree

This last month has been full of rest and transitions. My Naturopathic Mastery class is officially over. We had a really nice virtual graduation ceremony. Our professor had us practice prior to the big day. What we did NOT practice were the descriptions she had for each one of us and her special messages. She had us choked up as we realized the magnitude for her. All the years she spent developing an accredited curriculum finally produced her first graduating class. It was emotional for her just as it was for us.

As we wait for our certificates, it gives us time to shift into our new reality. There is a little bit of emptiness. We had class for two days a week (at least) for two years. I have taken my time to rest. At the same token, I know I have work to do.

The challenge is understanding WHAT that work is. Is it your every day professional career? Maybe. What I do know is that your work on this earth is something that you intuitively do without thinking. It is much deeper than being a Director of a company, an Uber driver, or a nurse. Your mission might be to cultivate others and build their self worth. You maybe be a healer through listening or creating diet plans. You might be an intuitive and help others with the unseen.

During my the graduation, there was a student-professor spotlight, the professor had a nickname for each one of us with descriptive qualities that she has experienced over the two years. She called me her Sunshine. I laughed because I have heard it many times in the past. A few months ago, I stopped at a local coffee shop after dropping off the boys for one of my favorite drinks, a vanilla mint latte. After receiving my latte, I quickly thanked the barista and flew out the door. The door swung open and my hair was flying. There was a food delivery guy and his friend at the truck. They stopped talking and the delivery guy said, "Hey sis, you're like an explosion of sunshine the way you came out that door." I smiled, thanked him, and kept going.

My sister-in-law and I had a recent conversation. She recalled the graduation, my professor's comment, and replaced Sunshine with JOY. She recommended that I watch Mission: Joy and felt I would resonate with the message. This documentary is about the friendship of Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu, their challenges in life, and how they find joy. The definition of joy is the feeling of great pleasure and happiness. Their friendship is full of acceptance, respect, affection, and laughter. Although they follow two different religions, they are both fulfilling their soul mission by offering support, guidance, and wisdom to others in a way that meets the whole person. They exude JOY when speaking and laughing with each other. I wondered how much was that energy fueling the other and helping them to continue their mission.

Not every day do I bring sunshine and joy. When I come with it, the energy can uplift, encourage and bring balance to others. We all need that warmth at times to get you through those rough patches. So find your JOY! You might need her to push you along, radiate you with energy, or consult you through a situation.

What was the point of this post? Be intentional on how you present yourself to the world. Time moves quickly and life is short. Be Sunshine and Joy to others while you are fulfilling your soul mission on this Earth. You might not be for every one but you are right for someone and they will appreciate you for you.

Today, I was up and down, so I went outside to Sunshine and found my balance with Joy in me💚
